Livestock Health Scotland supports a diverse range of projects across the country

We provide small funding packages to support farmers, vets and scientists tackling disease challenges at farm and regional level.  Many of these projects take the form of proof-of-concept or pilot studies, while others aim to gather evidence to pave the way for future work.  Click on the images below to see some outputs from LHS-funded work.

  • a pilot looking at the use of a sheep scab ELISA to maintain freedom from disease in Shetland
  • an exploration of the value of environmental screening in determining Johne's risk on farms
  • a review of the efficacy of vaccination to control bovine respiratory disease complex at farm level
  • a case study series looking at implementation of the five-point control plan for lameness in sheep flocks
